Promoting your program in-store and online

Simple ways to get more customers onto your pass without a big marketing budget.

Overview

Your counter flyer gets the pass in front of customers at checkout but the businesses that grow fastest promote it everywhere their customers already look. A few small touches across your physical space and your online presence can turn a trickle of sign-ups into a steady stream.

In your physical space

Your counter flyer Your most important tool. Keep it at eye level, next to your register, where every customer naturally looks when they are paying. If you have multiple registers print one for each.

On your packaging Add your QR code to cups, bags, boxes, receipts, or any packaging customers take with them. A customer who did not join at the counter might scan it at home. Print the standalone QR code from your Branding section and give it to your designer or printer to include in your materials.

On your menu or signage If you have a printed menu, a chalkboard, or any wall signage add a small QR code with a line like "Scan to join our rewards." Customers browsing your menu are already engaged — give them something to act on.

At your entrance or window A small sign at your door sets the expectation before customers even reach the counter. By the time they are checking out they already know about your pass.

On social media

Your bio link Add your join link to your Instagram and Facebook bio. Anyone who discovers your business online has a direct path to saving your pass before they even visit for the first time.

Posts and stories Share your pass periodically in your feed and stories. Show what customers are earning, celebrate milestones like your first 100 members, or announce a new reward. Keep it casual and genuine — it does not need to look like an ad.

When you launch something new Every time you add a new reward or run a promotion it is a reason to post. "New reward just dropped — join our rewards program to earn it" gives followers a concrete reason to act.

Timing your promotions

  • Mention your pass when you launch a new product or seasonal item

  • Promote it around holidays or busy periods when foot traffic is higher

  • Use your Announcement Moment to reach customers who are already on your pass and remind them to tell their friends

The QR code on a coffee cup is one of the highest ROI moves you can make. Customers take it with them, share it with people around them, and can scan it days after their visit. If you can only do one thing beyond your counter flyer, put your QR code on your packaging.

FAQs

Where do I get my standalone QR code? Go to Your pass, then Branding, then the Print QR code tab and download the standalone QR code file. You can give this to any designer or printer to use in your materials.

How often should I post about my pass on social media? There is no set rule but once or twice a month is enough to keep it visible without it feeling repetitive. Tie it to something relevant like a new reward or a milestone.

Can I use the QR code on digital materials too? Yes. The QR code works anywhere a customer can scan it with their phone — printed materials, digital screens, social media posts, email newsletters, and anywhere else you can place an image.
